The Admissions Process:

Each new application is carefully considered to find the best match between students, families, and the school.

The First Step

The admissions process begins with a request to tour and visit with our Head of School or a school representative. The tour highlights our programs, Montessori principles and practices, and addresses your questions.

Should I Bring My Child?

Choosing the right school is a family decision. Bringing young children along when you first visit a school can confuse them and distract you. You will want to focus on the school’s attributes and what makes it unique. Older students appreciate being involved in the process from the start. Partnership relationships take time.

If our school appeals to you, you will need to complete an application, pay the application fee, and request prior school records and two student recommendation forms. Once we have everything, we will invite your student to spend time with us. Toddlers and young Primary students often come in after school to meet with some of our teachers. Older students normally spend two days visiting one of our classes. The process is designed to give students an authentic classroom experience, cultivating a deeper understanding of each other.

Ambassador Parents

Our families love our school and are happy to share their experiences with you. Some families have older students who have been with us since they were toddlers. Other families have transferred to our school at different stages of development, and all are happy to answer any questions you may have. A list of contact information is available upon request.

Initial Conversations

In addition to attending Open House, many families will arrange one or more individual meetings with our staff to discuss the school and their children. Our goal is to help every prospective family make the best decision possible about their children’s long-term education before they apply.

Observing a Class at Work

Montessori classes are quite different from the traditionally structured classrooms experienced by many of us. We encourage interested parents to spend an hour or longer silently observing a class at work.
